Job Description
We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Linehaul Driver to join our transportation team based in Dryden, Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles to transport freight and cargo across designated routes, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a commitment to compliance, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently across assigned linehaul routes, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical soundness and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Manage cargo loading, securing, and unloading procedures in compliance with weight distribution and safety standards
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery documentation, and electronic records as required by DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding delivery status and any delays or issues
- Plan and optimize routes to ensure on-time delivery while maximizing fuel efficiency
- Adhere to hours-of-service regulations and maintain a clean driving record
- Demonstrate professional behavior and represent the company positively during all customer interactions
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks and report mechanical concerns to management
- Collaborate with team members to support operational efficiency and safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the jurisdiction with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable linehaul or long-haul driving experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong understanding of vehicle safety protocols and defensive driving techniques
- Proficiency in time management and route planning
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to operate dispatch systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Physical capability to perform loading, unloading, and vehicle inspection tasks
- Professional demeanor and customer service orientation
- Preferred: Hazmat endorsement or specialized cargo handling experience
- Preferred: Experience with freight management systems and logistics coordination
