JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a Field Service Manager who will manage and perform field-testing projects in the electric power industry including utilities, generation plants and industrial plants. This individual will manage Field Engineers along with coordinating resources (personnel, equipment and schedules) for field testing apparatus such as generators, motors, isophase bus, transformers, circuit breakers, cables and accessories and generate professional reports. The successful candidate will train field engineers in testing theory and methods and also perform field testing. Additionally, this role will review data, apply diagnostics and generate professional reports for condition assessment projects and collaborate with the sales team to define project scope for field-testing project proposals to clients.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Personnel Management-supervision of group of 4-5 engineers
• Provide technical training and oversight to field engineers (EMI, PD, Acoustic Monitoring/Location, Off-line Electrical Testing)
• Perform field testing (EMI, PD, Acoustic Monitoring/Location, Off-line Electrical Testing)
• Be technical point of contact for customer and Sales for project feasibility and scoping of field testing projects
• Collaborate with Solutions on development of EMI Test Equipment (Portland/Project Spark)
• Present technical and promotional material-internally and externally
• Train engineers and customers in use of and provide technical support for PDS200
• Participate as Secretary/Asst. Secretary in Client Conference Committee
• Present at revenue-bearing seminars in English and Spanish
• Represent Doble in industry forums
DECISION-MAKING LATITUDE

• Assign tasks to engineers-both revenue bearing and internal projects
• Assess projects for feasibility-determine suitability of group technically and logistically
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
• Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Post-graduate (Masters) qualifications desirable
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• 3 years experience EMI testing of rotating machines
• 5 years experience PD testing of transformers
• 2 years experience performing QA review of technical client reports
• 2 years experience managing personnel and equipment logistics for field services
• 2 years experience participation in technical industry committee
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Experience giving technical presentations
• Good Communication skills – oral and written
• Project management skills
• Fiscal responsibility
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Thorough knowledge of field testing of rotating machines
• Thorough knowledge of off-line transformers testing
• Familiarity with substations
• Familiarity with industrial sites and generation plants
• Seasoned traveler-domestic and international
• Fluent Spanish speaker desirable due to developing LATAM market
