We are looking for a motivated, analytically sharp summer intern to join our Strategic Operations team at the corporate level of the leading home services franchise organization. Time in role will include both in-office experience as well as strategic partnership with local franchise business owners – gaining direct access and exposure to how business operations are run. Key area of focus will be on consumer financing, a critical but underutilized growth lever in home services; your mission is to identify what's working, what's broken, and where we can build scalable best practices. Your findings will directly shape how we support franchisees and train future operators.

What are the core responsibilities for the Strategic Operations – Summer Intern?:
- Field Research & Franchise Engagement
- Conduct back-office visits with franchise owners to assess financing workflows, approval rates, and missed opportunities
- Build observation frameworks and interview guides to extract consistent, actionable insights across locations
- Data Analysis & Financial Modeling
- Collect and analyze financing attachment rates, average ticket sizes, and approval data across franchisees
- Build Excel models to identify performance trends, outliers, and best-practice benchmarks
- Create dashboards or scorecards to make key metrics easy to track and act on
- Best Practices & AI Integration
- Identify top-performing franchisees and draft operational recommendations and process guides for network-wide rollout
- Assist in building a financing playbook franchisees can readily adopt
- Explore how AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) can streamline analysis, summarize field observations, and close workflow gaps
- Ad Hoc Reporting & Analysis
- Support Strategic Operations team with key initiative deployment and reporting
- Interact with Brand Leadership, Corporate Leadership Team, and others
What does success look like?
- Successfully gathers and analyzes operational and financing data across franchise locations, translating findings into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Builds professional relationships with franchise owners and business leaders, demonstrating strong communication, curiosity, and business acumen during field engagement and collaboration.
- Develops accurate dashboards, scorecards, models, or reporting tools that improve visibility into financing performance, trends, and operational opportunities.
- Identifies scalable best practices and contributes meaningful recommendations, playbooks, or process improvements that leadership can implement across the franchise network.
- Demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and strong analytical thinking by leveraging technology and AI tools to improve workflows, streamline analysis, and support strategic decision-making.

- Skills:
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency — pivot tables, formulas, and data modeling are a must
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate raw data into clear, actionable insights
- Comfortable engaging with business owners and field staff in a professional, personable manner
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for field visits
- Organizational and time management skills
- Collaborative approach to working with business partners
- Education:
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a closely related field
- Schedule / in-office requirements:
- Hybrid working model; Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday/Friday from home.
