Job Overview

The Assistant Director of Equipment Operations serves as a key member of the equipment operations leadership team, supporting the Director of Equipment Operations in the daily management and strategic coordination of athletic equipment services. This position provides direct oversight of assigned sport programs, supervises equipment room staff and student workers, and plays a critical role in inventory management, procurement processes, operational efficiency, and athletic transportation services.

Work Interactions

The Assistant Director acts as a bridge between leadership and execution, ensuring departmental policies, NCAA and University regulations, and vendor contract requirements are consistently upheld while enhancing service delivery to all intercollegiate athletic programs.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in athletic equipment operations or a related field, including experience working with intercollegiate athletic programs, preferably at the NCAA level

• Experience overseeing inventory systems and supporting equipment room operations

• Prior experience supervising student workers, interns, or part-time staff preferred

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations related to equipment and student-athlete benefits

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$39,930.00 - $59,694.78

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
