SUMMARY
This position leads and coordinates recruitment activities for multiple Westlake sites, with a home base in Plaquemine, LA. This role delivers full-cycle recruiting for both hourly and salaried positions and partners closely with site leadership, corporate talent acquisition, and hiring managers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
Talent Acquisition
Lead full-cycle recruiting for a mix of hourly (operations, maintenance, skilled trades) and salaried (professional, technical, early‑career) positions, often in a high‑volume and time‑sensitive environment.
Partner with site leadership, HRBPs, and hiring managers to clarify needs, define job requirements, and align recruiting timelines and expectations.
Develop and execute sourcing strategies that leverage job boards, community and technical schools, social media, employee referrals, and networking to build strong candidate pipelines.
Conduct proactive outreach and screening to identify and assess qualified candidates for skills, experience, and cultural fit; present qualified candidate slates and recommendations to hiring managers.
Coordinate and participate in hiring events, job fairs, and targeted recruiting campaigns to support ongoing and surge staffing needs.
Maintain accurate, compliant candidate and requisition data in Workday, ensuring data integrity and alignment with TA processes and standard work.
Collaborate with HRBPs and site leadership to support workforce planning and staffing forecasts for key hourly and salaried talent segments.
Ensure recruiting practices align with applicable employment laws and equal opportunity guidelines.
Contribute to continuous improvement of TA processes, tools, and candidate experience.
Align with Westlake standard work processes in HR, specifically TA.
Other duties as assigned which may include providing occasional, as-needed backup HR support (e.g., simple Workday/HRIS updates, basic onboarding/termination tasks, HR record maintenance and participation in HR-sponsored employee relations events) under the direction of site HR.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required, degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment, sourcing, or a closely related HR role, with experience supporting both hourly and salaried positions; manufacturing, chemical, or industrial experience preferred.
Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously while meeting agreed service levels and hiring timelines.
Experience sourcing passive candidates and building proactive pipelines using job boards, social media, professional networks, and local market resources.
Working knowledge of federal and state hiring guidelines, employment laws, and HR practices, or the ability and willingness to learn quickly.
Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS (Workday strongly preferred).
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and management at all levels.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing candidate data, HRIS transactions, and compliance-related documentation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and infrequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Significant digital dexterity, e.g. using computer keyboard is required. Use of oral communication to perform work is required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, as normally based in an office. Travel including air travel or auto travel may occasionally be required.
