Reporting to the Operations Coordinator, the Assistant Operations Coordinator (Assistant) is responsible for Hospital Services and Distribution functions for the specified Carter BloodCare (CBC) operational location, and for directly managing assigned shift operations for that location. Under minimal direct supervision, the Assistant will manage and supervise all appropriate functional activities as well as oversee all aspects of training and competency assessment for Hospital Service Representative (HSR) on the assigned site.
Regular full-time attendance is required.
QualificationsEDUCATION
High School Diploma
Some College Preferred
EXPERIENCE
Six months as Hospital Service Representative (HSR) or in another regulated industry involved in the handling of regulated material.
One to two years’ experience in a blood bank management, Inventory Management, or Supervisory experience in a government-regulated inventory control environment.
OR an equivalent combination of comparable education and experience.
One to two years’ experience with computer blood bank/inventory management software/programs preferred
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong telephone communications aptitude
Strong computer skills with familiarity and background in computer blood banking/inventory management/software and programs
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, customer service, complex problem solving, and critical analysis skills a necessity
Working knowledge of all applicable AABB standards and FDA regulations associated with the production, distribution, storage, and transportation of blood products
Working knowledge of area hospital locations and their expected blood inventory levels
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse work force toward common objectives
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to make and act on critical decisions in unusual or stressful situations, with little or no direct supervision or guidance
