As an RN in the Pediatric Operating Room, you will deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical and other invasive procedures across all stages of infancy and childhood. This role requires specialized clinical expertise to support a wide range of pediatric conditions, working closely with a highly skilled team dedicated to safe, high-quality surgical care in the operative setting.

A caregiver in this position works days| 9:00am—5:30pm| Orientation is 6 months for anyone new to the OR setting - Mon-Fri 7a-3:30p with required call rotation. Shifts are assigned during orientation and will likely be 9a-5:30p.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
Perform scrub and circulating functions.
Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
If performing moderate/procedural sedation must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Card (within 6 months of hire)
One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
