The Product Engineering group seeks a Product Engineering Manager—Electrical Engineering to lead a team of engineers and technicians while driving technical excellence across electrical systems and control panel designs. This role combines people leadership with hands-on engineering to ensure strong product sustainment, successful product launches, and continuous improvement in design and manufacturing practices. This role is based in Dzierżoniów, Poland and reports to the Global PE Manager. Key Responsibilities
• Manage, coach, and grow a team of engineers and technicians: set priorities, provide feedback, and build a high-performing, accountable team culture aligned with department objectives. • Sustain performance and manufacturability of electrical systems and control panels: revise or create designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and documentation, as needed; serve as escalation point for complex production and quality issues; lead root cause investigations and corrective actions; manage component obsolescence. • Drive design excellence and NPD integration: drive electrical design quality in layouts, schematics, wiring, power distribution and protection, control systems, and component selection; ensure compliance with applicable standards (UL, IEC, CSA, NEC). • Strengthen lifecycle management: drive effective use of PLM systems, ensuring strong documentation, BOM management, configuration control, and Operations readiness. • Guide application of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles: integrate with NPD to ensure smooth launch from design to production; mitigate risks that could impact deployment and scale-up. • Lead continuous improvement and cost optimization: partner with Sourcing and Operations on VAVE initiatives to improve performance, cost, and manufacturability; evaluate alternative components, materials, and designs. Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred). • 8+ years experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment. • 2+ years experience with direct people management. • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
Technical Skills • Proven experience in electrical system and control panel design. • Proficiency with electrical/electronics CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, Altium). • Strong understanding of DFM principles and production-scale challenges. • First-hand experience with PLM systems and engineering change management processes. • Demonstrated success at root cause investigations, issue resolution, and driving corrective actions.
Leadership and Personal Attributes • Experience directly managing work of engineers and technicians. • Comfortable in a challenging, fast-paced environment, with the confidence to assert technical direction. • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence peers and leadership. • High level of ethics, accountability, and initiative. • Familiarity with global manufacturing and multi-site product environments (preferred).
