Business Overview
Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, Global External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Marketing, Brand & Communications
It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.
The Role
The Senior Associate – Corporate Communications will support the media team (within Global External Relations) in the development and implementation of our global media strategy. Reporting to the Director Global Corporate Communications, you will work closely with asset classes and colleagues across the business to achieve our objective of uplifting IFM’s reputation and public profile in target media markets, and among our investors, prospects and key stakeholders.
Activities critical to this role include:
Supporting media strategies to enhance and protect IFM’s reputation globally.
Developing and delivering high-quality media and communications products including briefs, talking points, speeches, media releases and responses, and social media content.
Supporting the corporate communications team to maintain our strong working relationships with media organisations and journalists, including pension, investment and other specialised press.
Providing advice to and working constructively with other IFM teams to execute on our media strategy.
Managing our third party providers such as public affairs agencies and our media monitors.
Your Background and Experience
Tertiary qualified with a communication/journalism or related focus
5+ years relevant media and communications experience. Funds management, financial services (business/institutional) or pension/superannuation funds viewed favourably.
Proven track record of:
Developing and executing earned media strategies and reporting on outcomes
Developing and delivering concise and accurate media briefs for senior management
Writing high quality media releases, op-eds, speaking points and other communications products
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with media organisations and journalists, including trade press
Monitoring relevant issues and trends in media and providing appropriate reporting and analysis
Demonstrated ability to work in and across teams, build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders.
Experience within a global investment management or superannuation fund highly regarded.
