Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

If so, the Department of Residence (DOR) team with Iowa State University is currently seeking applicants for a Secretary II! This individual will be responsible for the operation of assigned desk(s)/mailroom including student staff supervision, maintaining a welcoming and professional environment, and composing routine information requiring knowledge of University and Department of Residence policies and procedures. In addition, this individual will provide assistance with overseeing mail/package processes, desk assistant hiring, providing general office support, and special departmental projects as needed.
What You'll Do:
Supervise and support desk/mailroom student staff
Support daily desk and mailroom operations, including supplies and budget tracking
Maintain mail/package distribution and liaise with delivery services
Handle resident inquiries, issues, and communications
Coordinate occupancy processes (check-in/out, audits, records)
Provide general administrative support (reports, events, scheduling)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an administrative position.
Demonstrated experience supervising or leading individuals in a team environment.
Experience with mail and package distribution.
Previous experience working with student populations; ideally in higher education.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
