EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in bookkeeping or office management is required.
Experience with budgets, payroll, and cash handling is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable knowledge of effective office practices and procedures/excellent organizational skills.
Ability and willingness to establish and maintain excellent public and community relations.
Ability to react quickly and effectively to oral and written instructions.
Possesses excellent oral and written language skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling).
Ability to use good judgment and problem-solving skills to address issues and concerns within the scope of job responsibility.
Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software programs as needed.
Functions as office manager.
Prepares correspondence and other documents as required.
Maintains files and records related to principal’s accountability.
Responds to requests and maintains open communication with office of school administration and other central office divisions.
Meets payroll deadlines, manages school finances including – daily bookkeeping, preparing monthly and annual financial reports, tracking the school budget, placing school orders, and undergoing annual audits.
Answers phone, takes accurate messages, welcomes, and assists visitors to the school.
Receives, sorts and forwards mail and messages for the school staff.
Maintains regular on-time attendance and dependable.
Performs other duties as prescribed by the school principal.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
