The Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Human Resources Administrative Specialist to support administrative and technical functions within the Human Resource Management Section (HRMS) of the Systems Management Division. This role manages and maintains personnel records, processes HR transactions, supports timekeeping and operational HR functions, and serves as backup to HRMS staff. The position requires a high degree of discretion, accuracy, and knowledge of County administrative regulations, Virginia law, and Police Department policies.
Specific duties include:
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, skilled in handling confidential information, and able to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Polygraph/Background Check: Due to the sensitive nature of this position, the Police Department will conduct pre-employment criminal records checks and polygraph examinations. It will include checks of the following: criminal record, driving record, education, professional licensure, character/background investigation, and credit history. You will be required to sign a release authorizing the County to obtain your background information.
Additional Information
Work hours: Typical work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Telework opportunities are possible with supervisor approval.
Starting salary is commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected.
