The Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for a part-time Lecturer position in the Department of Management, beginning Fall 2026. The role requires instructing one course per semester. The lecturer will teach courses at the bachelor’s level primarily supporting the Clemson University Management Consulting Initiative within the Powers College of Business. The successful candidate will have strong teaching ability and real-world experience in Management Consulting and will be able to incorporate and source hands-on, industry-relevant experience.
About the Initiative
In 2023, the Clemson Management Consulting Initiative, a multi semester, cohort driven, experiential learning pilot program, was launched as a Creative Inquiry project in the Management Department to teach interdisciplinary student teams foundational applied research tools and client style problem-solving. The initiative delivers intensive experiential learning wherein industry partners bring real business problems and interdisciplinary student teams solve those problems with mentorship from professional services firms and faculty in a way that provides authentic client engagements and builds practical skills.
About the Department
The Department of Management is a comprehensive academic unit within The Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business, with over 45 full-time tenured, tenure-track, and instructional faculty. The expertise and research interests of the group span and regularly integrate the areas of entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy, organizational behavior, international business, business ethics, human resource management, supply chain management, operations management, management information systems, and data analytics.
The Department offers an undergraduate degree, a Master of Science degree in Sports Business and Analytics, and an Executive Ph.D. in Executive Leadership. Management faculty members also teach in the College’s MBA program and have recently published in top-tier journals, including AMJ, AMR, ASQ, SMJ, JBV, ETP, SEJ, JOM, JMS, ISR, MISQ, amongst others. Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field (required).
• Master’s degree in Management, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a closely related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence or strong potential in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
• Substantial professional (real-world) experience strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching at a major research university is preferred.
