What You'll Do: - Be familiar with Kaleidoscope Corner Policies and Procedures
- Be familiar with Colorado Department of Human Services Rules regulating Child Care centers.
- Promote a cooperative relationship with all Kaleidoscope Corner staff and school personnel.
- Maintain a punctual, reliable schedule during program hours.
- Follow the general daily schedule for the program.
- Follow staff conduct guidelines outlined in the staff handbook.
- Maintain appropriate standards for children’s behavior following the discipline guidelines as outlined in the staff handbook; use the discipline log with assistance from the Early Childhood Teacher.
- Maintain the accident log and complete accident reports, with assistance from the Early Childhood Teacher, as required by Denver Public Schools.
- Maintain licensing ratio for staff to child.
- Provide careful supervision of play areas to ensure children’s safety.
- Attend all orientations, trainings and staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:- Must meet following requirements: Persons having completed one of the early childhood education courses referenced in CCR 7.702.54(A)(1)(j), with a course grade of “C” or better, as well as having accumulated twelve (12) months (1,820 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than six (6) years of age who are not related to the individual. Satisfactory experiences includes being a licensee of a family child care home; a teacher’s aide or teacher in a child care center, preschool, or elementary school. Assistant Early Childhood Teachers shall be enrolled in and attending the second (2nd) early childhood education class that will be used as the basis for their qualification for the position of Early Childhood Teacher; or Persons having completed two early childhood education courses as referenced in CCR 7.702.54(A)(1)(j), with a course grade of “C” or better with no experience.
- Must currently hold certification in or be able to become trained in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions Certified.
