1. Participates in the nursing process during the delivery of patient care under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
2. Assists in providing nursing care to patients and collects data for assessment of physical, psychological, and social dimensions under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
3. Participates in implementing a formal plan of care for the patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
4. Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (Information Systems).
5. Participates in unit staff meetings and attends mandatory programs.
6. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
7. Assesses personal learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served. Shows a willingness to participate on Nursing Committees.
8. Assures compliance with unit-specific scope of practice.
9. Represents the facility in the community and within the facility by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the facility in a manner that will best market the services provided.
10. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and co-workers.
11. Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Enrolled in an accredited LPN program
• (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification within 60 days of start date
• (LPN) - Must obtain MA LPN license within 120 days of start date
