About the Role
You will satisfy set learning goals and provide pathology transfusion services with competence in all aspects of Transfusion Science by compliance with relevant current Australian Standards, Legislation and following Haematology department and hospital policies
Work as part of a team to achieve high quality work and produce accurate and timely reports.
Classifications for this position will range from RY9 – RZ3 ($108,820.4 - $123,905.6 per annum)
Our expectation
The successful applicant will be required to participate in workload and workflow management of the Transfusion Laboratory following documented operating procedures, including:
Participation in immunohematology testing and blood component/product issue
Inventory control and budgetary compliance
Staff training and assessment of competency
Maintaining, evaluation and implementation of procedures and instrumentation as directed
Understanding, applying and implementing hemovigilance practices
Your Contribution
Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science or equivalent, AIMS accredited
5 Years’ experience in a clinical/diagnostic transfusion laboratory
Exhibit excellence in Blood Transfusion Science
Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven history of effective leadership, training and development of staff
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain, conducted by Victoria Police
