The Payment Operations Product Analyst - Wires supports and administers the bank’s payment platforms, serving as a subject matter expert for system functionality, operational workflows, and issue resolution. The role monitors system performance, analyzes system and transaction activity, troubleshoots escalated issues, supports system changes and enhancements, and maintains procedures to ensure operational efficiency, compliance, and business continuity.
The Product Analyst partners closely with Operations, IT, Risk, Compliance, and vendors to ensure wire transfer systems are stable, well controlled, and aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor, support, and administer wire transfer systems acting as first-line support for system issues, irregularities, and processing disruptions.
- Possess strong working knowledge of end‑to‑end wire transfer processes, including cutoffs, settlement, and exception handling.
- Investigate escalated system issues by reproducing errors, reviewing logs, analyzing data outputs, and identifying root causes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned wire transfer systems, advising internal partners on system capabilities, limitations, and process impacts.
- Execute system configuration changes in compliance with established change management controls and ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to wire processing.
- Participate in testing and validation of system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and vendor releases.
- Create, update, and maintain procedures, workflows, and system documentation to support operational accuracy, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports to support management, audit, compliance, risk, and operational teams.
- Support project initiatives by assisting with requirement gathering, testing coordination, issue tracking, and readiness activities
- Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, controls, monitoring, and operational processes.
- Participate in business resiliency, disaster recovery, and operational readiness testing as required.
- Support other payment rails such as FedNow and RTP, as applicable.
- Participate in and support Operational Readiness Tests (ORTs), system upgrades, and production changes affecting wire systems.
- Participate in Federal Reserve and departmental business resumption and disaster recovery testing.
- Maintain and enhance operational controls by identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and updating procedures.
- Prepare operational wire reports and reconciliations according to prescribed schedules.
- Support time‑sensitive and high‑risk operational scenarios, including after‑hours events when required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in wire transfer operations or payment operations systems.
- Strong understanding of wire transfer workflows and risk controls.
- Experience supporting system testing, operational readiness, and resiliency activities.
- Ability to perform effectively in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive situations.
- Flexibility to support non‑standard hours during maintenance, DR, or critical events
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues to non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
