Estate Services Scheme Operative

We are working closely alongside with Southern Housing to assist with the appointment of an Estate Services Scheme Operative, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £15.17 - £19.82 per hour

Summary:

An opportunity has arisen for an Estate Services Operative to support the maintenance and cleanliness of communal housing areas. The role involves carrying out minor repairs, cleaning duties, estate maintenance, and supporting residents to ensure communal environments remain safe, clean, and well maintained.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, litter picking, and spot cleaning
• Maintain refuse chutes, bins, and bin areas
• Undertake deep cleaning using machinery such as jet washers and steam cleaners
• Carry out minor repairs including basic plumbing, joinery, painting, graffiti removal, and lock changes
• Report defects and follow up maintenance issues

Essential Requirements:

• Good practical skills and ability to carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks
• Ability to undertake physically demanding work
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• Ability to use a smartphone to access emails and log repairs/issues

• You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
• You should have right to work in U.K
• This role requires a Standard DBS
