Responsibilities and Duties:
- Completes the assigned sheet metal fabrication task that is needed including operating CNC plasma table, operating liner cut table, operating lock seam roller machines, operating hand tools and manually operated fabrication machines.
- Proficient in tasks that include handling sheet metal while operating machines.
- Capability to learn the operation of all shop machinery and understand specific safety requirements of each machine.
- Attends, as needed, all shop meetings related to assigned tasks. Is well prepared to handle issues that may come up.
- Provides labor work needed for the specific job in a positive, efficient and timely matter.
- Focuses on safety and safety practices first and foremost during all task assignments.
- Ensures the quality and profitability of each project by eliminating waste in materials and labor whenever possible.
- Willingness to learn the trade and jump in and assist when needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 1-year prior construction or sheet metal experience preferred.
- Stable work history
- Able to use basic tools (hammer, tape measure, etc.)
- Honest, reliable, dependable and display good character
Education:
- High School or GED Equivalent
Physical Requirements:
- Eyesight correctable to 20/50
- Able to stand for long hours
- Lift items weighing up to 60 lbs.
- Must not be afraid of handling raw edged sheet metal.
Special Requirements:
- Must provide own tape measure and boots.
