Position Summary:
We are looking for a Clinical Research Study Assistant to perform a range of study coordination activities, including recruiting study participants by identifying and screening potential subjects and obtaining informed consent. The successful candidate will coordinate patient visit scheduling, administer study questionnaires, and oversee correlative sample collection in accordance with study protocols. They will support research projects within the disease site led by medical trainees, clinical fellows, and Principal Investigators, and will be responsible for accurate source documentation in UHN’s electronic medical record (Epic) and data collection in compliance with UHN policies, ICH-GCP guidelines, and study protocols. Additional responsibilities include planning, implementing, and coordinating data entry (e.g., in databases or case report forms), as well as managing study-related administrative tasks such as maintaining investigator study files, contributing to non-interventional protocol development, preparing ethics submissions, and facilitating meetings.

Duties: 

• Coordinate day-to-day clinical study activities, including participant recruitment, eligibility screening, informed consent, visit scheduling, and questionnaire administration according to study protocols
• Maintain accurate study documentation, including source documentation in Epic and data entry into case report forms and study databases in accordance with ICH‑GCP guidelines and UHN policies
• Oversee collection, processing, and tracking of research samples, ensuring adherence to protocol requirements and proper documentation
• Support investigators, clinical fellows, and trainees with study-related activities, including data collection, report preparation, and ongoing project coordination
• Prepare and maintain regulatory and administrative documents, including ethics submissions, amendments, and investigator study files
• Assist with protocol development for non-interventional studies and contribute to study start-up and close-out activities
• Coordinate and facilitate study meetings, maintain study logs, and ensure timely communication among research team members

Qualifications

• At minimum  Community College or Bachelor’s degree in Biology or Biological Sciences, or Health-related Sciences.
• At a minimum three (3) months of related research experience.
• Attention to detail and maintaining accuracy of information.
• Experience with DNA/RNA extraction, cell separation and culture are an asset.
• The candidate should be self-motivated, and demonstrates strong interest in continuous technical, personal, and professional development.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent judgment, and ability to work independently with guidance are essential.
• Computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
