This position is responsible for supporting the Quality Department and daily execution of relevant quality processes and procedures. Coordinates with production in the monitoring of all phases of production. Maintains close report with production, maintenance and warehouse to identify, solve and prevent problems affecting quality. Supports product quality surveillance of manufacturing areas including HACCP monitoring.
Ensures the safety, quality, and regulation of all products produced. Responsible for inspections of processes, employee training, compliance with applicable food laws and regulations. Identifies best lab practices and provides guidance and adherence to quality policies/procedures. Actively participates in resolving customer complaints.

Position Responsibilities:
- Complies with and enforce all company policies and plant rules and procedures, to include Safety, Quality, GMPs, and General Work Rules.
- Assist the Quality Manager with regulatory audits, 3rd party inspections, division audits and customer visits. Assist the QA Manager with quality problem follow-up investigations.
- Support the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing improvement of the SQF Systems.
- Write SOPs & SSOPs to facilitate and simplify procedures for all Sanitation & Production employees related to QA to comfortably carry out day-to-day tasks as needed.
- Food Safety: Must comply with all GMPs, SQF requirements, and other Food Safety related items as deemed necessary by the company; Ensure that all direct reports comply with all Company Foods Safety Policies and federal regulations.
- Act as backup for Quality Manager, when necessary, in his/her absence.
- Administers correct action and coaching as needed. Ensure that all direct reports also comply with all Safety requirements in accordance with Company Policies and Government regulations.
- Supervise hourly Associates and Team Leaders/Coordinators to ensure that an efficient and effective workflow is created on a day-to-day basis. Develops the work schedule for all Technicians
- Provides input in department and program development; fosters Continuous Improvement and team environment; facility advocate for Food Safety and Quality.
- Guides, coaches, and develops employees in a worker-friendly team environment that rewards performance with respect and trust.
Skills, Experience and Education:
- Employee must have knowledge of Analytical and Sensory Testing, Good Manufacturing Practices, Environmental Monitoring, Chemical Handling, Audits, and Inspections.
- Must possess the ability to coach and train on Food Safety related programs.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation in food manufacturing is desired.
- HACCP Certified, SQF practitioner certification and Better Process Control are desired.
- Competent computer skills: advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP are preferred; and the ability to learn new systems.
- Must be self-starting. Strategic agility and process management skills needed.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast pace, multitask environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical and decision-making abilities combined with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Effective listener and team player.
- Must be flexible in adjusting work schedule based on business needs. Some weekend work required.
- Able to work effectively with others, have good interpersonal and leadership skills
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to lead multiple projects.
- This position requires the employee to be able to read, write, and communicate orally in English.
- High school diploma or equivalent or relevant experience in lieu of degree
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred – Food Science, Quality Management, or another related field

- Must be able to work with and to support other departments: Production, Maintenance, Warehouse, R & D, Procurement, etc.
- Analyze complex information and perform root cause analysis
- Effectively manage time, including the ability to prioritize, work within assigned deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively to accomplish organizational objectives

- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook on an Advanced Level
