The Senior Custodian, under supervision, provides daily, general cleaning services in a variety of styles to Campus Buildings.
Administrative Support
Supervises teams/shifts of custodians
Helps train and educate team members on approved procedures for all types of cleaning services and safety processes.
Acts as Quality Control of service levels with their respective team member areas.
Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure timely completion of custodial duties.
Maintain inventory, equipment and supplies list.
Holds custodian responsible and accountable for attendance and performance.
Supervises, trains, and evaluates the work of others.
Assist in onboarding new employees and reinforcing departmental policies and expectations.
Operations Support
Performs tasks to clean and maintain general appearance of buildings, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, extracting, scrubbing, stripping, waxing and burnishing floors.
Performs task to clean, dust, disinfect, wash and clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, offices, common areas, restrooms, kitchens and meeting spaces.
Performs interior and exterior window cleaning, sweeping of sidewalks and building entrances.
Responsible for opening and securing of building entrances daily.
Responsible for picking up and delivering supplies to support custodial staff.
Collects and disposes of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
Makes recommendations for process improvements or administrative changes.
Completes all maintenance tasks/projects assigned.
Equipment Support
Operate mechanical, electrical and battery-operated machines to aid in performing custodial cleaning duties.
Moves equipment and furniture for proper cleaning. May require moving and lifting tables and chairs.
Special Projects and Reporting
Gathers, monitors and reports supply request from team members to share with Assistant Director of Custodial.
Gathers, monitors and reports of broken and inoperable custodial equipment from team members to share with Assistant Director of Custodial.
Gathers, monitors and reports property damage, and vandalism to Assistant Director of Custodial.
Gathers, monitors and reports water intrusion, leaks, mold and mildew to Assistant Director of Custodial.
Gathers, monitors and reports light bulb replacements.
Will participate with on-call duties for evenings, weekends and special events.
Will participate in shift changes every quarter. Morning & Evening Shifts
Acts as service responders during emergency, weather, and catastrophic events.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement
Communicate to building occupants of custodial maintenance schedules.
Responds to preventative and reactive maintenance work orders.
Responds to building occupants in a positive and professional manner.
Effectively communicates with other Senior Custodians and Assistant Director of Custodial through emails, phone calls, or group messaging.

Education – High school Graduation or GED
Experience – One Year of related experience.
Experience - Supervisory Related Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
Multitask and prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment.
Work cooperatively and maintain positive working relationships with others
Physical Requirements
Ability to work outdoors exposed to various weather conditions, potential allergens, elevated noise levels, and heat
Ability to move light, medium or heavy objects with assistance.
Some lifting/moving/carrying of furniture and equipment
