The Sales Manager - Engineered Solutions will be responsible for aggressively growing profitable sales of Rehlko products (Gensets, automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, packaging solutions etc.) to EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) firms, consulting engineers and other specifying and purchasing entities as well as potential large direct customers. The individual owns the market and account planning activities with and without the distributor, answers for the success or failure across all target accounts and projects assigned. The territory including but not limited to Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
To be responsible for the accurate preparation of detailed technical quotations and specification of bills of materials, and other supporting data necessary to create specialty requests for Power Systems products. This includes technical design and application assistance for on-site power systems including, paralleling switchgear, gensets, and automatic transfer switches and accessories.
Duties include product application, specification interpretation, and quotation support. Responsibilities also include the review and initial processing of orders and the review of technical submittals prepared by Engineering for compliance to the order. Must be able to find solutions to solve customers’ requests using a combination of Rehlko and other manufacturer’s products. Must be able to turn ambiguous requests into solutions for customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead sales activities supporting EPC and engineering firms, to include prospecting and network development, with a primary focus on at least one of the following market segments: data centers, hospitals, water & wastewater or oil & gas and other key accounts as determined.
Responsible for developing and executing the sales approach for every stage of a project, across value chain players (end-user, engineer, procurement, contractor, distributor), for each market segment. Develop “pull” marketing approaches to drive qualified leads into prospecting efforts. Successfully close on qualified leads, responsible for profit or loss of each job.
Establish long-term working relationships with key individuals at the targeted accounts by becoming a trusted advisor and an integral part of their success. Provide guidance during the initial design stage and assist with developing project requirements, drawings, and specifications.
Must be knowledgeable in industry power products (generators, ATS, paralleling switchgear, custom enclosures etc.), pertinent codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, UL, IBC, ISO, IEC etc.) and overall on-site power system design and integration for the territory you will be working in.
Oversee the preparation and negotiation of quotations for projects from targeted accounts. Ensure the Sales Operations team, suppliers, and distribution network prepare quotes and preliminary drawings for projects to effectively deliver customer requirements. Participate and lead pre-quote project requirement meetings and project review meetings as required.
Play active role promoting KPS in trade events and associations. Work with Marketing and Engineering to create, prepare, and present technical papers and other application specific white papers for marketing collateral, trade journals and conferences. Must be comfortable and competent in providing presentations to large audiences.
Support the development and implementation of defined Sales excellence (ex. process, training, tools, sales presentations, account and project tracking, metrics etc.).
Provide guidance and support to assigned sales associates both internal and with our distributor and sales channel partners. This will include assisting in their technical development as well as their sales acumen for overall KPS sales growth.
Set and continually manage customer relations via the CRM (Salesforce) tool, effectively communicate customer expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
•Reports to Director of Sales – Latin America
Organization Relationships:
•Has daily contact with Area Managers (Sales), Marketing, Operations, Engineering, and other global project teams.
•Occasional contact with Credit Department personnel, Corporate Operations Support, Purchasing, Human Resources, Communications, Legal, and Labor Relations.
External Business Relationships:
•Daily contact with customers, including corporate accounts, KPS distribution, contractors, government agencies and large OEMs.
•Onsite Duties to Manage large Projects
Attend trade shows, exhibitions, seminars, sales meetings, etc.
•Has contact with a wide variety of business leaders and maintains active membership in professional societies and industrial associations.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S. Engineering required (BSEE or BSME preferred) with MBA preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years of power generation or related industry experience including direct sales on strategic/national accounts.
Experience should include substantial profit and loss accountability.
Proven leadership, results-oriented professional, an aggressive self-starter and a solid communicator are essential characteristics.
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
Spanish and English speaking/writing is required for this position. Proficiency in fluency is required for both languages.
Portuguese is not required, but a preferrable 3rd language.
