Job Description Summary
Incoming Process Quality Engineer focus on ensuring the quality of incoming materials and components, safeguarding manufacturing processes and product integrity. This role is critical in driving supplier performance, resolving quality issues, and embedding a culture of Zero Defect and Built-In Quality across the supply base.
Incoming PQE combines strong technical expertise, supplier collaboration skills, and structured problem-solving capabilities to proactively improve supplier quality performance.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Incoming Quality Management
- Own and manage incoming material quality, ensuring compliance with specifications and requirements.
- Establish and optimize incoming inspection strategies, including sampling plans and risk-based controls.
- Drive containment actions for non-conforming materials to prevent disruption to manufacturing operations.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to protect production flow and reduce quality escapes.
Supplier Quality Development
- Serve as the primary quality interface for assigned suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs such as PPM, defects, and responsiveness.
- Lead supplier audits, assessments, and qualification activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier processes and capabilities.
Problem Solving & Corrective Action
- Lead structured problem-solving activities (8D, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis) for supplier-related issues.
- Ensure timely implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive systemic fixes to prevent recurrence and reduce defect rates.
Zero Defect & Built-In Quality Deployment
- Deploy Zero Defect framework principles across the supply chain.
- Implement Built-In Quality (BIQ) practices, focusing on prevention, error-proofing (Poka-Yoke), and process capability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to standardize quality systems and best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics teams to improve end-to-end quality.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by ensuring supplier readiness and process qualification.
- Provide quality input for supplier selection, development, and strategic sourcing decisions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or Quality from an accredited university or college AND 2-3 years of experience
OR
High School Diploma/ GED AND 6+ years of experience

Desired Characteristics

- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt).
- Experience in manufacturing environments (e.g., industrial, energy, aerospace, automotive).
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $82,000.00 and $136,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
