The Project Quality Engineer will report solid line to the Regional Quality Manager and dotted line Product Line Quality Manager and will be responsible for ensuring effective application of the Baker Hughes Quality Management System (QMS) and customer requirements for the relevant scope of work handled internally (in-house) or externally (suppliers). The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing technical requirements, and implementing controls for its adherence, and exercising problem solving, quality reporting and improvement in a daily basis, and as a result ensuring a role model interface with customer site representatives.
As a Project Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Implement quality requirements into product specification and ensure compliance at execution locations.
- Lead project quality matters combined between product lines as one integrated solution to customers for wellheads quotation, fabrication and installation using Baker Hughes rental tools.
- Run product quality audits and walks in a frequent basis to certify project requirements are flowed down.
- Collaborate with product delivery team on identifying and reporting out punch-list for closure.
- Interface with customer site representative, third and/or second party inspector for all matters during execution, including notification of inspection.
- Establish the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans as other project quality children documents that guides the proper execution.
- Lead Go No Go process for fabrication start and facilitate pre-production meeting.
- Ensure project Lessons Learned are properly captured, solved and communicated to product delivery and project management team.
- Implement and control Project Quality KPIs for MRB deliveries, Non-conformances and Punch list.
- Support and collaborate in supplier quality records (manufacturing record book) approval process.
- Handle communication with direct colleagues and business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
- Adhere to Product Line directive for standard quality requirements in fabrication sites.
- Ensure critical observations and concerns are properly identified and escalated to the respective levels of the organization.
- Run Quality meetings to cover all product quality aspects with the relevant stakeholders and execution places.
- Be the first point of contact for customers for all quality aspects of the project.
- Investigate customer issues resolution including complains or non product tive.
Fuel your passion
- Bachelor degree from an accredited university or college (Mechanical, Production).
- Advanced in English, being able to communicate effectively with stakeholders in different countries and regions.
- Knowledge in local Brazilian customer quality requirements related to fabrication of subsea equipment including Wellheads, XT, Manifolds and Tooling.
- Experience in Quality audits to support customer project assessments.
- Strong fundamentals in product quality inspection, tests and documentation analysis.
- Strong experience with customer interface.
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams. Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
- Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and solution skills. Proven analytical and organizational ability.
- FMEA knowledge is desirable
