ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides strategic oversight and direction of ticket pricing according to artist and demand. Adjusts pricing to maximize revenue and works directly with our third-party ticketing company to develop strategic initiatives for ticketing opportunities throughout the San Manuel enterprise. Maintains direct leadership of the ticketing process through the entire show process from on-sale until financial reconciliation, including any financial audit completed.
2. Develops, trains, and manages the ticketing process for the entirety of the enterprise. Collaborates with internal departments to administer the ticketing process as it applies to each department. Works in conjunction with additional key internal stakeholders to develop a ticketing plan for each event as needed.
3. Leads day-to-day operations of all Box Office team members, inclusive of the oversight of ticket sales, will call, ushering activities, ticket taking, ticket scanning, and the calibration and maintenance of all ticket-scanning devices. Serves as a main point of contact for show ticketing information by regularly communicating with outlets/ ticket companies, keeping them properly informed about events and computer operations.
4. Reconciles daily cashier, phone, and web sales with the general ledger, supporting documentation, and off-system ticket inventory. Audits and balances cash drawers and sales receipts for Box Office staff. Manages the cash vault, including cash ordering and coordinating secure cash transport with external vendors. Prepares certified event audit statements for Accounting and provides Box Office reporting as needed.
5. Modifies standard configurations or creates new builds and engagements (e-blasts) from scratch for unique events or specialized needs. Fosters business partnerships with promoters by providing information and assistance promptly and accurately upon request.
6. Maintains files on each event that consists of seating manifests, complimentary ticket vouchers, event audits, and ticket inventory schedules.
7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and/or related field required.
Minimum of six (6) years of related work experience to include working in a box office position, with a minimum of four (4) years in a supervisory position.
Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Experience with AXS ticketing system preferred. Consideration for candidates with a background in Archtixs, and the Ticketmaster operating system(s).
Ability to work under pressure, while handling large sums of money, utilizing prescribed cash management controls, and day-to-day tasks concurrently.
Ability to work varied shifts and complete tasks promptly while adapting to different facility areas and environmental conditions.
Work independently, exercising judgment and initiative with minimal supervision.
Maintain an effective working relationship with employees and others encountered through the course of employment.
Operate standard office equipment and personal computer(s) using MS-DOS, MS Windows, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, AXS, Archtixs, and the Ticketmaster operating system(s).
Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.
Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Demonstrates strong oral and written communication, effective leadership, and people‑management skills, including motivating teams, collaborating across groups, and guiding others through change while building commitment.
Must maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS – ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled casino and theatre setting.
Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
