Required Skills & Experience:
Technical Leadership & Application Development
- 10+ years of experience in application development and delivery, with a strong technical foundation, including exposure to C/C++ and cloud-managed applications.
- Hands-on technical background in application development, with the ability to engage deeply in architecture, design, and problem resolution.
- Must have experience with application modernization, including migrations from mainframe-centric environments to modern cloud technology stacks.
- Proven expertise in technical defect resolution, including memory leak identification, performance tuning, and system optimization.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
Enterprise Transformation & Program Recovery
- 8+ years of demonstrated success leading and recovering late-stage or at-risk enterprise transformation programs.
- 8+ years of experience leading development and testing for complex, highly integrated systems, with preference for mainframe, legacy platforms, and cloud-based ecosystems.
- Deep experience managing UAT cycles, defect triage, stabilization phases, and release readiness.
- Strong understanding of critical path management, burn-down charts, and delivery metrics to drive programs to successful completion.
People Leadership & Global Delivery
- Experience managing large, cross-functional teams of 100+ resources.
- Senior leader capable of balancing strategic oversight with hands-on technical expertise.
- Proven success working with offshore and distributed teams across global time zones, particularly India.
- Willingness to adjust working hours as needed to collaborate with global teams, including occasional weekend support.
Agile & Delivery Management
- 5+ years of solid Agile delivery experience, with a pragmatic approach to applying governance and controls when required for program recovery.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, release tracking tools, and delivery dashboards.
Communication & Executive Engagement
- Comfortable operating at both executive and technical levels, with the ability to clearly communicate complex topics.
- Experienced in developing executive-level presentations, status reports, and leadership-facing materials.
- Calm, decisive leader who performs effectively in high-visibility, high-pressure environments.
General Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and drive effective solutions.
- Proactive self-starter who takes ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Airline or transportation industry experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Program Recovery & Execution
- Take end‑to‑end ownership of a delayed and over‑budget transformation program, with immediate focus on UAT defect burn‑down and schedule recovery.
- Quickly diagnose root causes across development, testing, environments, data, and dependencies.
- Manage and execute a realistic recovery plan with clear milestones, critical‑path focus, and measurable exit criteria.
- Maintaining staffing model to ensure adequate staffing with right skills along with cost
Development & UAT Leadership
- Lead development, QA, and functional teams through tightly managed build–test–fix cycles.
- Drive daily triage of UAT defects, prioritizing by business criticality and cutover risk. This includes the tracking and reporting of data.
- Ensure fixes are developed, tested, and integrated into the daily master build with minimal rework.
- Enforce execution discipline across code quality, regression testing, and environment readiness.
Offshore & Extended Coverage
- Work closely with offshore leads to align developers and testers against daily priorities.
- Support off‑hour calls and weekend cycles as required to sustain UAT momentum and meet recovery milestones.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
- Provide clear, factual, and transparent updates to Copa stakeholders and DXC leadership.
- Support weekly customer status meetings and UAT working sessions; manage scope, expectations, and risk discussions.
- Escalate issues early with recommended options and trade‑offs.
Cutover & Operational Readiness
- Partner with Cutover and Operational Readiness teams to ensure UAT exit criteria align with go‑live needs.
- Validate that data, integrations, performance, and recovery scenarios are proven before cutover.
- Ensure documentation of system behavior, known limitations, and operational procedures is completed and handed over to Run teams.
Team Leadership
- Coach team members on execution discipline, ownership, and decision‑making under pressure.
- Reinforce a delivery culture focused on accountability, transparency, and results.
