Position Summary
The role of the Nurse Manager reports to the Clinic Manager in partnership with the Clinic Physician. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination of nursing staff and aides. This position will participate in direct patient care.
Essential Position Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day workflow in the clinic as it relates to patient care
Provide ongoing training to nursing staff
Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
Prepare patient for various types procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed
Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
Assist patient by providing direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
Serve as patient liaison and advocate, as needed
Ensure patient has received all necessary educational materials
Schedule surgeries and various diagnostic tests and provide scheduled date to the patien
Qualification
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licensure and Certifications: Valid registered nurse license and CPR, required.
Experience: Previous experience in a Dialysis setting, required.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
