In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Location: Waltham, MA (relocating to Cambridge, MA in July 2026)
Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

What we’re looking for
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Chemistry preferred)
Experience:
1–2 years of laboratory or related experience (academic lab experience considered)
Strong customer service mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
Familiarity with laboratory equipment, processes, and scientific environments
Experience in GMP or regulated environments preferred
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Teams and inventory systems preferred
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI)
Knowledge of inventory control practices (FIFO/FEFO, cycle counting, lot tracking)
Understanding of chemical handling, storage, and safety requirements
Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in a dynamic lab environment

Avantor’s Advanced Laboratory Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:
The Lab Resource Coordinator (LRC) plays a critical role in bridging laboratory operations and scientific teams. This position ensures seamless day-to-day lab functionality, maintains compliance, and enhances the overall lab environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
Scientific & Operational Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for scientists, addressing daily lab operational needs and requests
Provide hands-on lab support, including basic experimental assistance, solution preparation, and routine equipment checks
Identify opportunities to improve workflows and contribute value-added services
Inventory & Materials Management
Maintain accurate inventory of consumables, solvents, and lab supplies using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
Manage stock levels using FIFO/FEFO, lot tracking, and expiration controls
Coordinate sourcing and procurement of laboratory materials to meet operational demands
Support lab coat and consumables programs, including vendor coordination
Equipment & Facility Coordination
Partner with Lab Instrument Services (LIST) to coordinate equipment calibration, maintenance, and tagging
Submit and track work orders for laboratory equipment and facility needs
Maintain organization and cleanliness of shared lab spaces (cold rooms, TC rooms, equipment rooms, and storage areas)
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure adherence to GMP and laboratory operational standards
Maintain and update SOPs and work instructions to reflect current processes
Support safety compliance through participation in audits, walkthroughs, and training initiatives
Apply proper chemical storage, compatibility, and safety documentation practices
Communication & Collaboration
Act as a liaison between scientists, lab operations, and service teams
Participate in team meetings and communicate updates effectively across stakeholders
Build strong working relationships to support efficient and compliant lab operations

Pay Transparency:
The expected pre-tax pay for this position is
$50,000.00 - $80,500.00Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
