Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Kennel Technician to join our team. This role is essential in providing daily care for animals and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. The ideal candidate is hardworking, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed
Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment
Monitor animals for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes and report concerns to staff
Exercise and socialize animals as appropriate
Maintain accurate records of feeding, treatments, and activities
Support veterinary staff and other team members as needed
Ensure all safety and animal care protocols are followed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience working with animals is a plus, but not required
Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks (standing, lifting, cleaning)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts
Work Environment
Exposure to animals, cleaning chemicals, and varying noise levels
Physical activity including walking, bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
