This role sits within the Collections Strategy team, a key part of the Collections Excellence Crew, responsible for shaping and executing credit risk strategies across the customer lifecycle and all retail products.
The Collections Strategy team plays a critical role in transforming how we engage with customers in arrears, using data, analytics, to drive better outcomes for customers and the bank. With a focus on innovation supported by use of AI and operational efficiency, this team is leading the shift from traditional collections to a future-fit, technology-enabled model.

As a Senior Manager, you will lead the design and execution of collections strategies, translating advanced analytics into pragmatic system changes. You will coach and develop a small team while influencing senior stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes that improve customer and portfolio performance.
Your day could look like (but not limited to):
Set direction for credit and collections strategies, using data and decisioning models to lift customer and portfolio outcomes.
Use portfolio performance and monitoring to identify risk trends, opportunities, and priority levers across strategies, rules, and models.
Embed changes into collections and decisioning platforms, ensuring strategies move from insight into execution.
Track performance against key risk indicators, and success measures, with clear visibility of emerging issues and results.
Engage senior stakeholders and governance forums with clear, evidence‑based insights and constructive challenge.
Lead and develop a high‑performing team with clear accountability, strong capability, and a results‑driven culture.
Strengthen how credit risk is managed over time through targeted process uplift and continuous refinement of controls and measures.
What successful candidates will look like
We’re looking for a strategic leader with deep expertise in credit risk or collections strategy, a strong delivery mindset, and a proven ability to translate data analytics into impactful, practical outcomes.
Additional requirements we’re looking for:
At least 12 years’ of experience in credit risk or collections strategy, with a strong understanding of credit risk frameworks and portfolio management.
Deep expertise in data analytics applied to credit or collections portfolios, with a track record of driving strategy through insight.
Strong credit strategy capability, including ownership of portfolio performance and optimisation initiatives.
Experience working with decisioning or collections platforms such as PowerCurve or similar technologies
A strong quantitative background (mathematics, statistics, or related discipline) to support robust analytical decision‑making.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders across major banks or lending environments.
