Santander Consumer Finance focuses on business development related to consumer finance products, sales channels and commercial agreements with dealers, vehicle manufacturers or retail distribution establishments, as well as commercial functions associated with direct sales (branches, call centers or digital channels) and indirect sales (through third parties) of consumer finance products.

Santander Consumer Finance is looking for a Residual Value Risk Specialist based in our Boadilla del Monte (Madrid) office.
We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:
- Work closely with Residual Value risk team in HQ and subsidiaries to help develop and enhance retail decision models and strategies related to asset/residual value risk management.
- Monitor Residual Value portfolios, tracking key performance metrics and identifying deviations versus expected outcomes.
- Analyze automotive market trends in Europe (new and used car markets, consumer preferences, technology, regulatory and macroeconomic factors) impacting future residual values.
- Support local Residual Value teams to maintain processes and analytics to set and review residual values for vehicle leasing portfolios.
- Participate in local and Group-level forums related to Residual Value, Risk and Asset Management.
- Liaise with Business and Finance departments and provide independent challenge to commercial proposals and pricing assumptions, ensuring risk-adjusted decisions.

Professional Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in asset risk management within automotive, leasing or asset-based portfolios in a regulated environment. (Required)
- Demonstrated strong presentation, written, and verbal skills. (Required)
- Proven experience as a Specialist or subject matter expert in Residual Value setting, validation and portfolio monitoring. (Preferred)
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related fields. (Required)
- Postgraduate studies in Finance, Risk Management or Data Analytics. (Preferred)
Languages
- Spanish: Native/Advanced. (Required)
- English: Advanced, able to work in an international environment. (Required)
- French: Intermediate level. (Preferred)
Hard Skills
- Strong analytical capabilities applied to residual value forecasting and market risk assessment. (Required)
- Ability to make sound, data-driven judgments in uncertain or evolving market conditions. (Required)
- Exposure to analytical tools or data environments (e.g. SAS, SQL, Python). (Preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. (Preferred)
Soft Skills
- Ability to act as HQ reference and trusted partner for a local market.
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to synthesize complex, country-specific information.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge assumptions and contribute to decision-making.
- High level of ownership and drive, with a proactive approach to identifying risks, proposing solutions, and following through to execution.
