The Sr. Director, Graduate Career Management is responsible for leading the strategic delivery of innovative, and accessible career development, recruitment initiatives, and programming for graduate students aligned with market trends and national best practices while identifying new opportunities to expand the office’s footprint; developing policies, guidelines, and segmented approaches to support student job searches and connections to opportunities; and representing the Office of Career Management through engagement with national organizations and collaboration with internal leadership, academic partners, and cross-functional teams.
Along with developing the strategic vision for the office this role has the opportunity to provide high-impact student coaching by advising individuals on career strategies, maintaining relationships with alumni and IICC members and expanding a working knowledge of industry and recruiting trends while guiding staff in building strong employer and alumni connections to enhance outcomes; leading and managing Professional Pathways and Career Boost Networking Programs and expanding the office’s use of evidence based practices using graduate data collection programs to asses measurable learning outcomes.
The Sr. Director supervises and develops a team of full-time staff and students by overseeing hiring, training, goal setting, and performance management that align with office and college goals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study, or equivalent experience. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in career management or a comparable area (e.g., college recruiting or career development), with demonstrated experience supervising staff within a career services office. Familiarity with career development theory and practices and effective job search strategy development. Familiarity and experience with Handshake, Microsoft 365, and up-to-date AI -based interview, resume and career management platforms.
Desired Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred with 12 years of relevant experience. Experience working with graduate-level business students.
The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
