The Job Profile Simon & Schuster UK is looking for an Application Support Analyst to provide support for a business-critical title management system and deliver enhancements aligned with business and technology priorities. The role will support the stability, performance and ongoing enhancement of the system, including its integration with upstream and downstream systems. Acting as a key link between business users, internal technology teams and a US-based third-party vendor, you will help ensure the effective resolution of issues and delivery of practical, user-focused improvements. This is an opportunity to make an immediate impact within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Job Role As Application Support Analyst, you will provide end-to-end support for a core business application, troubleshooting issues and ensuring timely resolution in line with business priorities. You will manage a backlog of incidents and enhancement requests, assessing impact and supporting changes that deliver value to users. You will build and maintain reports to support data visibility and decision-making, and investigate data issues using SQL, including diagnosing problems across system integrations and data flows. Working with internal teams and external vendors, you will support issue resolution, system changes, and testing and release activities. A clear and confident communicator, you will provide updates on issues and progress, working closely with users to understand requirements and improve system usability, while supporting enhancements that meet UK needs and align with global standards.
The Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have experience in application or systems support within a business environment, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. They will have a working knowledge of SQL and relational databases, and be confident investigating data issues and supporting user queries. The candidate will be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and take a proactive, solutions-focused approach. A clear communicator, they will be comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and supporting collaboration across teams. The applicant will have experience working in publishing, media or similar content-driven environment, supporting systems that manage structured content, metadata or title-level information. Experience with integrated application environments, such as content or title management systems is essential. Familiarity with enterprise platforms (ERP/CRM) and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, and an understanding of ITIL principles would be advantageous. Salary Starting from £38,000
