Transport goods safely and efficiently to designated delivery locationsConduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness Adhere to road safety regulations and company procedures at all times Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logbooks, and records Assist with loading and offloading of goods when required Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or delays promptly Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries Ensure cargo is properly secured to prevent damage or loss Key Competencies & Skills Strong knowledge of road safety and transport regulations Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to work independently and under pressure High level of responsibility and accountability Good communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Reliability and punctuality Minimum Requirements Valid Code 14 driver’s licence with a valid PDP Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience driving heavy-duty vehicles Proven experience in the logistics or transport industry Good knowledge of local and long-distance routes Clear criminal record Good health and sober habits Matric certificate or equivalent qualification What success looks like in this role Deliveries completed safely, efficiently, and on time Consistent compliance with safety and company regulations Well-maintained vehicle with minimal incidents or breakdowns Accurate and timely completion of all documentation Professional conduct and reliability in daily operations Strong attendance, punctuality, and teamwork SMD Technologies is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to the principles of employment equity.
