Join our dynamic team as a Construction Technician in Winnipeg, Manitoba! This position offers flexibility and provides an opportunity to work on diverse projects across the region.
In this role, you’ll assist with tank and piping installation and removal projects (above or underground) throughout Saskatchewan and adjoining provinces. You’ll work closely with project teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while delivering exceptional customer service and demonstrating a willingness to learn new skills.
As a Construction Technician, you will:
Support the installation and removal of aboveground and underground tanks and piping systems across Saskatchewan.
Perform site improvements at gas stations, including concrete repairs, tank pad upgrades, and island maintenance such as replacing manhole grade rings and spill containers.
Install, service, and repair petroleum handling equipment.
Operate construction tools and equipment safely and effectively, including quick-cut saws, jackhammers with air compressors, and towing trailers, while adhering to road safety regulations.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Construction Leads to plan and execute site repairs and upgrades efficiently.
Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards and certification requirements for petroleum and allied petroleum storage tanks, as mandated by local authorities.
Deliver exceptional customer service and demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning and skill development.
Required Competencies:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction-related projects.
Licensed tank installer certification is considered an asset (see acceptable licenses here: Certified people for the installation of storage tank systems for petroleum products and allied petroleum products - Canada.ca).
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Willingness to travel, work on-call, and perform overtime as needed.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, and deadline-driven environment.
Capable of following direction, working independently, and maintaining a strong focus on safety.
Proficient in the use of construction tools and equipment.
Physically fit and able to perform demanding tasks, including extended shifts and additional hours.
Able to safely lift and carry a minimum of 60 lbs.
