Hutchinson Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to join our primary care practice in Dassel MN. Dassel Clinic is a well-established rural health clinic with a loyal patient population. One hour west of Minneapolis, the Dassel Clinic draws from well-established communities. We are currently looking for a part-time Physician Assistant to join our clinic.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures the plan of care for the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations reflect:
an understanding and ability to obtain information/perform assessment and react effectively to the unique needs of these patients;
assessment information that reflects physical, psychosocial, developmental and cognitive data specific to the age of the patient; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
Provides scheduled primary care efficiently and accurately.
Provides ongoing patient education and counseling.
Treats acute care problems efficiently and accurately resulting in patient satisfaction.
Provides timely chart documentation that is accurate and thorough
Orders labs, x-rays, and diagnostic tests to facilitate the correct diagnosis in a cost efficient manner.
Determines when a patient’s problem is serious enough to seek advice from a physician and subsequently contacts a physician to discuss patient’s care.
Participates in community health programs which promote wellness and health education
Works closely with Hutchinson Health’s occupational health services to promote health and safety in local business and industry.
Participates in an active public relations program which promotes Hutchinson Health.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Education, Training or Degree Required:
1. Degree from a recognized school of Physician Assistant medical program.
License/Registration/Certification Required: (will be primary source verified by HR)
1. Physician Assistant certification
Experience and Skills: (indicate preferred or required)
Experience in the ongoing care of adults and children in the setting of a rural clinic is desirable
Sound knowledge of diagnosis, evaluation, and management of acute and chronic family medicine. This should include, in part, history taking, physical examination, appropriate use of ancillary lab and radiology testing, and basic treatment plans. Use of consultation with physicians and allied health staff is critical.
