Description
Responsible for development, implementation, delivery and oversight of the didactic phase curriculum and assessment.
Reports to: PA Program Director
FTE: 1.0
Duties:
- Works with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to develop and implement a comprehensive, progressive didactic curriculum
- Works with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education develop and implement horizontal and longitudinal goals and learning objectives within the curriculum to ensure a system of progressive student learning and assessment across the continuum of the program
- Works with the Program Director and Director of Clinical Education to develop a strategy to design, implement and maintain curricular mapping of the didactic phase of the PA curriculum
- Implements and oversees the ongoing delivery and evaluation of the didactic phase of the program
- Development, implementation and oversight of the didactic curriculum and assessment plan for the didactic phase of the program
- Serves as program liaison to the Biomedical Science and Medical School faculty to facilitate integration of biomedical sciences into the didactic curriculum
- Assigns course directors for each course within the didactic curriculum
- Course director or co-director as assigned
- Classroom instruction and small group facilitation in the PA program in areas of expertise
- Chair, Didactic Education Committee
- Develops and participates in student assessment and evaluation
- Provides student advising
- Contributes to application evaluation, interviews and selection of matriculating students
- Participates in site visits to clinical preceptors, as needed
- Participates in the ongoing program evaluation and accreditation processes
- Scholarly activity in areas of research interest
- Serves on university and School of Medicine committees, as requested
Qualifications
Required:
- Physcian Assistant Certified (PA-C)
- Master’s Degree
- State Licensure (or license-eligible)
- 2+ years of experience in PA education
