The School of Communication at American University invites applications for a post-graduate Research Fellow appointment for Academic Year 2017-2018. The appointment is a 7-month term position and will begin Sept. 19, 2017.
The Investigative Reporting Workshop, a nonprofit, professional news organization publishing at investigativereportingworkshop.org, and a PBS FRONTLINE team based at the Workshop, have collaborated on the new fellowship to provide an opportunity for nascent journalists and documentary filmmakers interested in research, reporting and writing.
Applicants for the fellowship must have completed their master’s in journalism, documentary film or related studies, or the equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field (communication, public policy, international relations, science and technology studies, media studies, information science, engineering, computer science, or law) before beginning the fellowship. Fluency in English is required. This is a research-focused fellowship and does not require teaching.
Salary of $29,000 grant-based and includes benefits. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled, subject to on-going budgetary approval.
