

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY, OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY is inviting applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor tenure track position in Clinical Psychology beginning August 2023. Competitive salary and start-up funds are available. Candidates will be expected to serve as a research mentor for doctoral students, to supervise undergraduate research, and to provide quality classroom instruction for both graduate and undergraduate courses. Typical teaching load is two courses per semester and clinical supervision counts in this load when assigned. Several of our current faculty maintain active research and training collaborations at both the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and the OSU College of Medicine in Tulsa, offering rich opportunities for access to medical specialty populations and collaborations. Additionally, OSU Stillwater, OSU College of Medicine, and OSU Tulsa partnered to host the interdisciplinary OSU Brain Initiative (https://tulsa.okstate.edu/braininitiative) in Tulsa, OK, where the most advanced MRI system in the state is located, OSU Biomedical Imaging Center at the Hardesty Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience: https://osumedicine.com/resources/biomedical-imaging-center/. Several current faculty maintain active research and training collaborations at the Hardest Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience, offering opportunities for access to medical specialty populations and collaborations. The Department has 25 full-time faculty and offers PhDs in clinical psychology and experimental psychology. The clinical program, continuously APA-accredited since 1971 and PCSAS-accredited since 2018, is based on a clinical science model of training. The Department offers training to a diverse graduate and undergraduate student body (30% minority enrollment) of approximately 60 doctoral students and 1000 undergraduate majors. The Department is also home to the Center for Pediatric Psychology (http://www.centerforpedpsych.com), reflecting OSU’s 30+year history of dedication to training clinical psychology graduate students wishing to specialize in the field of pediatric psychology. Specialty graduate training tracks are available in both pediatric psychology and clinical child psychology. We are looking to fill this position with an individual with training and expertise in Pediatric Psychology. Candidates must have received their doctoral degree from an APA or PCSAS accredited clinical psychology program and have completed an APA-approved clinical psychology internship. Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to scholarly activity, excellent teaching and mentoring, and to interact well with colleagues and students. They must also demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high-quality research program leading to scholarly productivity in the form of professional publications, presentations, and grantsmanship. We are seeking candidates with expertise in any aspect of pediatric psychology, such as coping with chronic health conditions, adherence, integrated primary care, cancer control or health promotion, among others. Applicants with interests in cultural issues in health or health disparities are especially encouraged to apply, as these are issues of special concern in the state of Oklahoma.
