Guiding Principles
Office of Employee and Business Services
The Office of Employee and Business Services (OEBS) provides customer service and operational support to ODJFS through five bureaus: Business Services, Civil Rights and Labor Relations, Human Resources, Multimedia Services, and Training and Educational Services. OEBS customers include all ODJFS employees, clients, service providers, county agencies, and the public. Learn more about the office by visiting the ODJFS OEBS webpage.
What You Will Do
Keep the ODJFS buildings and grounds safe and secure.
Patrol both on foot and by car to check for fires, damage, theft, broken equipment, and leaks.
Make sure doors are locked or unlocked as needed.
Report any safety violations or unusual incidents, and sometimes help investigate complaints, injuries, accidents, or thefts.
Monitor the electronic security for all ODJFS offices statewide, and be prepared to assist in medical emergencies, which could mean giving first aid or CPR.
Keep an eye on who is coming and going or monitor security alarms.
Investigate safety and security violations, report any broken equipment, take away prohibited items, and issue warnings for safety rules.
Keep accurate records of your checks, visitor logs, and equipment issues is important.
Attend training, use a computer for reports, and maintain files.
If you're assigned to handle first aid, CPR, or use an AED, you will need to get certified within your first few months and keep those certifications current.
Schedule: Full- time
Hours: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 25. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $20.41 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
