Transportation Engineer 1 or Transportation Engineer 2/Office of Pavement Engineering, PN 20049456

The selected candidate will be placed in the classification in which they meet minimum qualifications.

What You Will Do:

• Learn from a licensed professional engineer about pavement engineering
• Assist with pavement engineering research & pavement design 
• Assist in establishing research objectives & design of appropriate experiments to address objectives.
• Make recommendations to higher-level engineer on state-funded pavement-related research projects & assists with the implementation of successful research
• Assist with pavement design & rehabilitation analysis & recommendations for the Departments pavement design program.

Transportation Engineer 1:

Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.

Transportation Engineer 2:

Valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 12 mos. exp. as Transportation Engineer 1, 85641.

-Or Bachelor's degree in engineering; valid certificate as Engineer-In-Training issued or accepted as equivalent by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors; 2 yrs. engineering related experience.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated registration.

This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

All bargaining unit new hires must serve a one (1) year probationary period.

Position will be filled pursuant to the provision of the OCSEA/AFSCME Contract.
