Division
LCD comprises of Legal, Compliance, Global Financial Crimes and Regulatory Relations.
The Legal Department provides guidance, requirements and procedures for understanding and complying with the laws, regulations and Firm policies that apply to our businesses.
The Global Compliance Department identifies applicable Compliance Obligations and maintains a Firmwide Compliance Risk management program, including Compliance Risks that transcend business lines, legal entities and jurisdictions of operation.
Global Financial Crimes is responsible for the development and governance of the Firm's financial crime prevention efforts across all regions and business units. Global Financial Crimes is comprised of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Anti-boycott, Anti-Corruption (ACG) and Government and Political Activities Compliance (GPAC) programs.
The Global Regulatory Relations Group (GRRG) is responsible for strategic and centralized management of the supervisory activities of Morgan Stanley's regulators and related developments globally, with a focus on regulatory reviews and examinations and continuous monitoring activities. GRRG serves as the central point of contact for the regulatory staff responsible for supervisory activities at Morgan Stanley entities and for timely reporting to Firm management and other governance or management bodies, as appropriate, on those relationships and supervisory processes, including areas of significant regulatory focus or concern.
LCD Center of Excellence - Mumbai (LCD CoE) is a part of Morgan Stanley's Global In-house Center, which provides global support to LCD and is an integral part of Firm and LCD strategy.
Team: Transaction Monitoring
Morgan Stanley clients are subject to continuously monitored to detect unusual or potentially suspicious activities. The exceptions generated are reviewed or investigated by applying a risk-based approach, which involves considering available information pertaining alongside the risk tolerance of the Firm with respect to money laundering. Primary Responsibilities (Day Job)
The Director will:
- Supervise a team of TMS professionals whose primary responsibilities include the following:
Draft dispositions summaries that support the alert review outcomes, ensuring documents are clear and concise while complying with regulatory expectations.
Ensure a high-quality work product and that the level of documentation adheres to procedural expectations.
Spend 50% time performing alert review along with Supervisory activities
Ensure daily operational processing is completed according to established program SLAs and regulatory requirements.
Review the quality of work delivered by the team with strong supervision and governance.
Proactively identify risks to the GFC program and day-to-day; escalate on a timely basis.
Provide process improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
Have regular 1-1s with the team and document action plans.
Adhere to Morgan Stanley's core values and drive the same within the team.
Respond to questions from various stakeholders including GFC colleagues, Risk partners located in the field, and other Business Unit personnel.
Maintain good regional stakeholder connects with regular interactions.
Adopt the firm's Gen AI agenda and implement the relevant tools within the process.
Update procedures on a timely basis.
Requirements
Experience
6 to 10 years of Transaction Monitoring, AML, Due Diligence, Regulatory environment; experience in the financial or professional services industries.
Solid track record working in a professional environment.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college / university.
Experience in team management preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues across regions and Business Units.
Ability to research and resolve issues independently while working across teams to acquire information.
Ability to use various PC, MS Office and internet applications and tools to support the processes.
Knowledge
Foundational understanding of the financial markets and banking, including broker-dealer product-based knowledge and the ability to learn concepts quickly.
Should exhibit comfort in working with technology and the ability to learn and display proficiency on technical systems and programs.
Proficient with MS Office

Coverage
Monday to Friday from 11 AM to 8 PM and 9 AM to 6 PM India time with flexibility on standard working hours for time sensitive matters (including India Public Holidays). The shift timing will be flexible dependent of evolution of the process.
