Waste & Street Cleansing Supervisor

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rugby to assist with the appointment of a Waste & Street Cleansing Supervisor, on a 3-months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £16.40- £20.99 per hour

Summary:

Rugby Borough Council is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Waste & Street Cleansing Supervisor to lead operational teams within the Works Service Unit. The primary purpose of this role is to supervise and support the delivery of high-profile recycling, refuse, and street cleansing services across the borough. You will ensure that these essential services are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest environmental standards while maintaining a positive public image for the Council.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure work quality meets agreed environmental standards and monitor overall team and individual performance.
• Manage attendance and conduct sickness consultation or "welcome back" meetings in line with Council policy.
• Provide accurate data and reports to managers to support budget monitoring and performance indicators.
• Act as a professional point of contact for councillors, officers, other departments, and members of the public.

Essentials:

• Proven experience leading operational teams in waste management, street cleansing, or a related field.
• Experience handling appraisals, absence management, and disciplinary procedures.
• A full UK driving licence is essential
