Role: Residential Support Worker (Shift Leader)
Location: Headington
Salary: Up to £28,500 per annum (dependant on qualifications and experience)
Contract/Hours: Permanent Full Time - 37 hours a week, with a 2-week rolling rota drawn up in advance with every 2nd weekend off. Shifts are 8.00am-8.30pm and 9.30am-9.30pm.

About the Service:
Viking House is our welcoming overnight 6 bedded short-break residential service for children and young people aged 5 to 18 with profound physical and/or learning disabilities, including those with complex health and behavioural care needs.
Set within a friendly residential community and close to local amenities, it provides a safe, welcoming environment where children can relax have fun, and thrive.

As a Residential Support Worker you will guide a team of staff in supporting the children with their day-to-day personal needs. Working with your team and the children to assess individual needs to develop tailored care plans. You will help to maintain a safe and fun environment for both staff and children within the home and whilst out and about in the community.
Our Senior Residential Support Worker guides a dedicated team through shifts with expertise and empathy. Their proactive approach to risk management, safeguards our young people’s wellbeing allowing us to deliver the highest quality of care. With a commitment to continuous improvement, they’ll ensure the wellbeing of our children and young people is prioritised by delivering personalised care, guidance, and advocacy.
Provide lead case/care planning management, including assessing, reviewing and managing risk.
Co-ordinating responsibilities within the service, with multi agency and producing family information, including analysis and written reports.
Attendance at professional meetings including reviews, court work etc.
Lead shifts with the primary aim of the provision of a high-quality service.
Supervise and guide staff as required, in accordance with Action for Children policies and procedures.
Lead by example with the application of Action for Children’s policy procedures and professional practice standards and in line with registration requirements
Let's talk about you as a Residential Support Worker:
You will have experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.
A range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.
Demonstratable emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.
The ability to supervise and guide less experienced staff.
You will show application of diversity policies within a residential setting and be able to lead on care plans and reviews.
