This role is for a senior welding specialist focused mainly on laser welding, providing global plant support, technical standardization, feasibility analysis, and guidance on welding equipment and processes.
The position also supports innovation by evaluating AI and software solutions for welding, analyzing cost savings, and helping integrate welding data into smarter digital systems.

What will your responsibilities be?
Global Plant support for Laser welding (Prio A) (Robot, Fixture, Tru-tops, Precitec, specification) and/or GMAW, Resistance welding (Prio C)
Standardization, Specification, feasibility support in Laser welding (Prio A) and/or GMAW, resistance welding (Prio B)
Guide new AI applications and new software solutions (analytic approach; open to probability-based AI model calculations) in welding as pilot user for future applications.
Market observation of welding & AI application trends; follow state-of-the-art technology for laser welding, GMAW, AI application softwares for welding.
Payback analysis of potential applications in the welding area
Welding machine concepts (LCC, MCC, HCC variations)
Physical tryouts (internal or external) of critical design elements / fixture concepts
Standardize PFMEA for welding, guide rework concepts, consulting with design engineering and SMTE welding
Support for weld equipment specification with detailed technical instructions
Main tasks for next years: Integration isolated welding data (weld parameters, AI weld seam inspection, C&E, MES machine data) into one combined software system supported by an online weld expert knowledge base (all AI supported)
Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?
Successfully completed studies in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering
Experience in automotive industry and production environment
Min 10 years of experience in welding (mainly laser welding) in Seat Structures and Mechanism (SSM) operations with use of Trutops, Precitec, Fixture adjustment, robot programming, Cut and etch analysis, CMM/gauge validation.
Deep understanding of welding data (weld process data, online monitoring data, cut and etch data) and their validation by logical analysis & decision trees.)
Saving and cost estimation
3d CAD Design experiences, GDT, tolerance stacking
Layout creation, PFMEA, time analysis, cost calculation for welding processes
Flexibility and willingness to travel (supplier, plants, TC)
Advanced English knowledge
