We are seeking a skilled Lead Workday Time and Absence Analyst to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing and optimizing our organization's time tracking processes within the Workday system globally. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Workday's time tracking and absence functionality, along with the ability to work with key HR stakeholders in understanding and defining requirements to deliver outcomes in the time tracking and absence space.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the strategy, configuration, and maintenance of Workday Time Tracking and Absence Modules with minimal oversight, serving as the primary technical authority for these systems - additional Workday module experience/expertise is a plus
Design, implement, and optimize time tracking and absence policies and procedures aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain product roadmaps for time and absence functionality, identifying enhancement opportunities and prioritizing initiatives based on business value and technical feasibility
Work independently to scope projects, build comprehensive timelines, and manage deliverables from conception through implementation
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Legal, Payroll, and business leaders to gather requirements, build consensus, and drive system enhancements
Provide expert-level system support and troubleshooting for complex time-related issues, escalating only when necessary
Generate, analyze, and present reporting insights related to time and absence to drive data-informed decision-making
Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly terms, enabling stakeholders at all levels to understand system capabilities and limitations
Proactively monitor Workday functionality, updates, and new features related to time and absence, assessing impact and recommending adoption strategies
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for time tracking processes, system configurations, and business rules
Identify, propose, and implement process improvements that enhance user experience, increase efficiency, or mitigate risk
Mentor junior team members and serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges
Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience with Workday, including significant experience with Time Tracking and Absence modules - Experience leading Workday time tracking and absence deployments is strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems or equivalent experience
Proven track record of working independently on complex projects with minimal supervision
Demonstrated experience developing roadmaps, managing timelines, and delivering projects on schedule

Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to independently analyze complex data sets, identify trends and anomalies, synthesize findings, and make actionable recommendations that drive business outcomes
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills - must excel at partnering with senior leaders and business users across varying levels of technical proficiency. Ability to influence without authority and build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups is essential
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technical solutions to organizational goals and articulate return on investment
Expert proficiency in data analysis and reporting, including the ability to independently design reports that address specific business questions and proactively identify metrics that matter
Ability to interpret complex policy documents and translate them into precise Workday time configurations, while identifying policy gaps or ambiguities that require stakeholder clarification
Highly detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to self-manage quality assurance, anticipate downstream impacts of configuration changes, and maintain accuracy in a high-stakes environment
Strategic thinking capability - able to see beyond immediate tactical needs to identify long-term system optimization opportunities
Self-directed and proactive - comfortable operating with ambiguity, making informed decisions independently, and knowing when to seek input versus when to drive forward
Customer service excellence with a delivery-focused mindset - proven ability to build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with internal customers, consistently adding value and striving for excellence in every interaction
