Position Summary:
At ABEC, Product Engineers are responsible for driving the strategic direction for our innovative and rapidly growing CSR product portfolio. This position is focused on understanding customer and market needs as well as overseeing the full lifecycle of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Product lifecycle management – responsible for initial business plan and concept through commercial launch and end of life. Works strategically and across functions to ensure success in meeting customer and company goals.
- Product marketing – assess current and future market dynamics, define go-to-market approach, and build the content and tools to support lead generation and sales development
- New product development – set specifications and design for new products and enhancements, develop test plans, and train both internal and external stakeholders
- Continuous improvement - partner cross-functionally to identify improvements to product performance and costs
Qualifications:
Required
- BS degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Biological Engineering or equivalent
- Solid understanding of product lifecycle and technical marketing fundamentals
- At least 3 years of experience in an engineering capacity on large scale capital equipment
- Ability to translate customer inputs into clear product requirements
- Comfort working on multiple projects simultaneously, across multiple functional groups
Preferred
- 5 years post-graduate engineering experience in bioprocessing or an adjacent industry
- Knowledge of upstream bioprocessing applications including cell culture, harvest, and purification
- Familiarity with Lean or other Continuous Improvement framework
