Overview of project/role
London Underground’s Access Department facilitates all aspects of planned access to track and stations for maintenance and project activities. This role is key to the successful delivery of track protection resources for engineering works, and offers the post-holder an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team environment, ensuring valuable access opportunities are utilised safely and efficiently.
The role sits within the Access Department, part of the LU Asset Performance and Capital Delivery Directorate, and reports to the Protection Contracts Manager.
The post is responsible for managing the booking, planning, and effective utilisation of safety critical protection and possession resources to support TfL’s rail projects and maintenance activities. The role requires strong technical expertise in protection activities, detailed knowledge of the LU Rule Books as they relate to Track Access, and proven experience in planning and resource deployment within the London Underground environment.
The role plays a critical part in safeguarding valuable engineering access by providing real‑time solutions, mitigating risk, and ensuring that access arrangements are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and contractual requirements.
