The Area Sales Manager (ASM) for Indonesia is responsible for leading commercial development across the flexible packaging industry for the full range of BOBST technologies:
Rotogravure, CI Flexo, Lamination, Vacuum Coating & Metallizing, and Wet Coating.
The role focuses on driving growth, building strategic customer partnerships, developing market intelligence, and ensuring a seamless customer experience throughout the investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities 1. Sales & Commercial Development - Deliver annual sales targets for all BOBST product lines in Indonesia.
- Identify, qualify, and close new machine sales in a competitive market.
- Build and manage a high-quality opportunity pipeline in CRM.
- Prepare commercial proposals and lead negotiations up to contract signature.
2. Customer Relationship Management - Maintain strong and sustainable relationships with converters, packaging manufacturers, and key decision-makers.
- Conduct regular customer visits to understand strategic priorities and upcoming investment needs.
- Position BOBST as a long-term partner delivering high ROI solutions.
3. Technical & Product Engagement - Present and promote the technical advantages of BOBST technologies (Rotogravure/CI Flexo/Lamination/Coating/Metallizing).
- Coordinate demonstrations, FAT visits, technology workshops, and benchmarking sessions with Product Lines.
- Provide customer feedback to Product Line teams for continuous improvement.
4. Market & Competitive Intelligence - Analyze market dynamics, customer investment cycles, and competitor activities.
- Report market insights and forecast updates to regional management.
- Support strategic planning for the Indonesian market.
5. Collaboration & Internal Alignment - Work closely with Service teams to ensure customer satisfaction post‑installation.
- Partner with Marketing for seminars, open houses, and brand‑awareness campaigns.
- Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams during offer preparation and contract processes.
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Printing Technology, Packaging, Business, or similar.
- 5–8 years of sales experience in flexible packaging machinery or industrial capital equipment.
- Proven success managing long and complex sales cycles.
- Strong understanding of at least one printing/converting process (Gravure, Flexo, Lamination, Coating, Metallizing).
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
